The 2025 Pledge Drive

Come to the Table

Our pledge theme this year is “Come to the Table.” We have a lot of tables here at St. Mary’s. We have the tables up in Berktold Hall where we make sandwiches for our hungry neighbors. We have a table in the Guild Room for Coffee Hours and Funeral Receptions. We have a coffee table that the knitters sit around to make prayer shawls, a table in each classroom where children and youth learn about faith, and we have dinner tables to enjoy meals with friends old and new. And at the center of everything, we have the communion table, were we come to celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus in the Eucharist. (From the Rev. Bingham Powell’s letter in the 2025 pledge packet)

Bright blue envelopes containing pledge packets are arriving in mailboxes in early October. You pledge of support will make a difference.

Our 2025 Goal: A Fully-Funded Budget

We haven’t had a fully funded budget since before the pandemic. Special, short-term funding has been bridging the gap created by adding our Assistant Rector and increases in expenses from inflation. Now it’s time to bring those expenses into our annual budget. With your help, over the next two years we aim to increase pledges and bring our total number of pledgers back to pre-2020 levels.

In year 1, we need to increase total pledging by $88,000.

That is an average increase of:

  • $429/year per pledging household or

  • $36/month per pledging household or

  • $8.25/week per pledging household

Your pledge matters. We know that everyone’s circumstances are different. How do you decide how much to pledge for next year?

  • Consider what St. Mary’s needs to keep current ministries going.

  • Consider what you can do.

  • Pledge an amount for 2025 that is meaningful to you.

Pledge today by mailing back the pledge card you received in your pledge packet, or you can fill out the electronic version of our pledge card here, or set up a recurring electronic gift here through this secure payment site.

Ways To Pledge

Fill out an online pledge form. What is a pledge? A pledge is an estimate of what you plan to give for the year. This is not a legal obligation. It is simply an estimate to guide our Budget Committee as they craft the annual budget.

Make a one-time gift or set up a recurring gift using your bank account or credit card through our secure payment site accessible by clicking the “Give Now” button below. You will be redirected to a highly secure third party website hosted by Vanco, our payment processor. You can find out more about the security of your online donations here.

Securities (Stocks, Bonds, etc.)

When you give securities (stocks, bonds, etc.) you not only receive a charitable deduction for their full fair market value, but also avoid tax on the capital gain for stocks held longer than one year.  Contact our Finance and Records Manager, Emily Breding, at Emily@saint-marys.org or 541-343-9253 ext. 503 to let her know which securities you will be donating to St. Mary’s, and ensure that you get the full tax deduction.  Stocks must be transferred to Charles Schwab DTC #0164, account #7071-2882.  Usually it takes several days to complete this transfer, so don’t wait until the last minute.
