What is Lent Madness?
Lent Madness is a unique, March-Madness-inspired Lenten devotional brought to us by Forward Movement. Are you a fan of modern saints like Absalom Jones? Are you more of a fan of hermits and healers like Hermione and Evagrius the Solitary? Don't know the difference between Theodora of Alexandria and Theodora the Empress? Want to learn more about all these (and many more!) Saints? Lent Madness is for you!
Two years ago, St. Mary's decided to play along as a group, as a fun way to learn about the saints and raise money for St. Mary's ministries! It has been such a success that we're doing it again this year, but online!
Why Participate?
For starters, it’s a fun way to learn about the saints. Also, it’s a fundraiser for St. Mary’s children and youth ministries - half the proceeds go to the kids while the winner gets to choose which St. Mary's ministry wins the other half!
How Do I Participate?
1. Go to the Give page: www.saint-marys.org/give Choose "Give Now" to be taken to our secure giving platform. The Lent Madness option is in the "Outreach" section. $5 for one bracket (one chance to fill in all the matches and predict the winner) OR 5 brackets for $20.
2. Once we receive notification of your donation, you will receive an email from Carolyn Williams, Children and Youth Ministries Director, with further instructions.
What is the Deadline to Participate?
You need to make your donation by Shrove Tuesday, February 16.
